Numerator Denominator Superior Inferior

Hello there

So I’m currently designing my figure sets.
And I just wanted to ask you what is the math behind these set sizes. I’ve searched on the internet, but I didn’t find any exact ratios to work with.
I found a couple of links and info like:

(And some dead links…)

(btw. what happened with Fonfeed and Typophile??)

Anyway, so I know the fraction character sizes are between 60-70% of the original numerals. (and superiors are a bit smaller) But are there some more accurate methods to figure out these sizes? Or what are your techniques?

There is no “right” size. Just make them a size that fits your design.
