Open corners in variable font exports

Hi forum!

I’m trying to understand if there’s a way to keep the open corners in variable fonts, because if they get closed upon export, a lot of fine tuning in the interpolations is not possible. Example: in these two masters the top left corner is open

because I want the interpolated shape to be like in A (Glyphs’ preview). Instead, it looks like in B in variable exports (look at the top left part, very different)

Unfortunately the open corers need to be closed. The format doesn’t know about them so they would show up in the final rendering.
