Is there a way to open masters from the same file in separate windows? I’d love to be able to look at (and edit) two masters next to one another.
Not in a new window. But you can add the glyphs twice to the edit view and switch them to different masters in the layer panel.

Or you can select an instance that is close to the master in preview view.
