Opening file from desktop very slow

I don’t know when this stared being an issue but opening a file form the desktop takes forever. It doesn’t need to be a glyphs issue but maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Files from other applications open just fine. I’m running High Sierra now but I’ve had this with Sierra already.

Any Ideas?

Glyphs Version 2.5b (1105), macOS High Sierra 10.13.2

I fixed that a few days ago. Glyphs is looking for custom glyphData and filter files and does so by parsing all subfolders in the same folder where the .glyphs file (it is not reading any content, just looking its files). If that takes a while, then you have to many files on the desktop ;).

Thx @GeorgSeifert for the info… ah well, the desktop :see_no_evil:

Is there any documentation on how to add custom filters next to a glyphs file?

I found it myself. Just put a CustomFilter.plist next to the Glyphs file.

And you can add a name to the file CustomFilter Name of the File.plist. The ‘Name of the File’ will show up in the sidebar.
