Opening OTFs with wrong style names

Opening OTFs, I get these Master names Bold Medium (normal) now which is wrong, I assume it’s because of the new axis system…

Why is it a wrong master name?

Because its an .OTF called Font-Bold.otf, and it only has Weight information in the .OTF and master, so Medium (Normal) [which refers to the width?] is unnecessary.

Also Bold Medium (Normal) or… Normal Medium (normal) is pretty confusing…

Point is now every time I add an OTF as a master, I have to rename it

  1. Why?
  2. How often do you add compiled OTFs as masters?

I fix this. The master name should indeed only be Bold.

Edit: I fixed it.

This issue is still present when I generate a glyphs Instance. I.e. I have an instance called “Round” set to Weight Normal, Width Medium. But the instance name is Normal Medium (normal)

Can you send me the .glyphs file?

I fixed it.
