Having used Font Audit in Font Lab 5 and the Red Arrows plug-in for Glyphs, I’ve noticed that paths of 4 units or less are considered errors. Can anyone enlighten me on if this is a legacy issue or if not where short path lengths become a problem in the font software?
I remember there where some rasterisers that had problems with short paths. But that should be ancient history by now.
It could also confuse the autohinting process.
Well, ‘error’… it reports them in the sense of: ‘are you sure about this, is it intentional, you may want to have a look at it again.’
