Please explain how to style link bold italic

I cannot get style linking to work with bold italic in Indesign CS6…
• Medium Italic is the italic of Medium (works)
• Bold is the bold of Medium (works)
• Bold Italic does not work as the italic of Bold, or the bold italic of Medium, or the bold of Italic.

Erich, Would you please just post four screenshots showing the settings required to get basic style linking to work? They should probably be added to section 5.3.3 of the handbook.

Bold Italic should be the bold AND the italic of Regular (or Medium in your case). You must make sure that the style name is spelled correctly (trailing space?).

Thanks for confirming that. I think this was actually an Indesign problem, rebooting got it working.
