Possible bug using 'Reconnect Nodes'

I just set up a shortcut for ‘Reconnect Nodes’ and when using it I noticed it joins the points together, but it also created another segment underneath (photos attached), as if it’s duplicating the part that it is creating.

Not sure if this is a feature or a bug, just wanted to check!

‘Reconnect Nodes’ is intended for something else. Select the two nodes on the left of the bar of the A and run the the function.

You are looking for ‘Connect Nodes’ or ‘Close Open Paths’.
