I exported mine with the embedding options set to “Installable” and it worked fine after that—no more blank boxes or random glyphs showing up.

Fonts exported manually from Glyphs with specific export settings worked better for me than ones bundled in packages. If you’re running into version conflicts, trying a clean reinstall of the font on the PC helped in my case.
Did you manage to find what the problem is? I am experiencing the same issue with random letters not showing up on a PDF exported from Mac PPT with embeddable fonts.
