It seems that variable fonts exported from Glyphs do not have hinting implemented in Adobe Illustrator/InDesign, and even Adobe’s own concept variable fonts do not seem to have hinting. I just wonder if the fonts exported from Glyphs have auto TT-hinting implemented for variable fonts. Thanks!
You can export TT hinting (though not autohining) with variable fonts. I do not know if Adobe’s preliminary implementation can handle TT hinting already. I only know it does it for static fonts.
