This may be a daft question, but what does this custom parameter actually do - especially in the case when the glyph being removed is used as a component. Does it decompose any glyphs which use it?
It sets the glyph to not export. For TT fonts this triggers decomposition. Only corner glyphs are removed immediately.
Thank you! One more related question: Cormorant has a “Remove Features” custom parameter of loclBGR. I kind of understand what this does (remove the BGR-related lookup from the locl feature), but how does it do it: Does it just work for automatically-generated features? Does this language suffix work for other values? Does a script suffix work? etc.
I don’t think the loclBGR is doing anything. The parameter is only looking for feature tags. But as the feature is set to “automatic”, it will be regenerated when there is a “Remove Glyphs” parameter.
