Rendering Issue: Open Contours at Small Sizes in Adobe (Windows)

I’m experiencing a rendering issue with my font in Adobe applications on Windows. At small sizes, some overlapping contours remain open instead of merging correctly. I’ve already applied “Remove Overlap” and checked path directions, but the problem persists. Could this be related to hinting or another export setting? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

As you can see in ”screenshot_1” the overlapping is displayed as negative but when the text is bigger in ”screenshot_2”, it works better.

That means that the overlap is not removed. What format did you export (otf, ttf or variable)?

Adobe apps follow different rendering algorithms at different zoom stages. Unremoved overlaps are only shown at certain PPM sizes.

Make sure you are testing the right font. InDesign has Type > Find/Replace Font, select the font in question and click on Reveal in Finder.
