Replace selected outline with Component?

I’d like to search for a specific geometry – perhaps by selecting it – and replace it with a Component throughout the font. I’m asking here as there are a lot of add-ons and scripts for Glyphs and I’m hoping someone might know if this exists already.

I found this, but I think this replaces every object with a Component, regardless of the content. Plus I couldn’t get it to do anything, perhaps it needs to be configured somehow?
