Have just come across either something that needs to be documented, or a potential bug.
When using the renameGlyph
attribute, to swap a lowercase a
, when exporting .OTF
files, all subsequent components (e.g. aacute agrave
…) are also automatically swapped.
However, when exporting .TTF
files, only the explicitly defined characters are swapped, and the others retain the original a
's metrics.
I’m presuming this is due to how glyphs exports ttfs (with components not being merged etc), but couldn’t see any documentation about this specific use case.
