There is now a new section for developer news in the forum. Posts do not show up on the home page, but you can currently follow the topics using RSS:

Offering a newsletter would be great, too, but that was a bit too involved while getting this started. For now, if you want a newsletter, the are countless tools online that convert an RSS feed to a newsletter.
