Sometime when handles are close or point in the same direction it’s a bit trick to know at which point a handle belongs. Marked with a light gray dot handles of selected point could be useful.
Not sure if that is not creating confusion with the selection state of the offcurve node. You can press Tab or shift+Tab to move the selection to understand what belongs together.
