Script to generate weights

Hi

So currently to generate weights I have a font with two master and instances of the weights I want.

I then use File > Generate Instances which generates those weights

I then go through each of the weights produced and use File > Export to Export each weight.

Is this the correct process to produce weights.

Years ago when I used Fontlab I had a macro that I must have copied/hacked together from somewhere that did the above actions in one macro. I could generate the weights and save them.

Is anything like this available in glyphs?

You don’t need to generate instances. Just export the original file.

All your instances are exported at once when you use File > Export… , so you don’t need to do that for each weight. In Glyphs 3 the tab “Instances” has even been renamed “Exports”.
