Select all doesn't work

Select all does nothing, either mouse drag select does nothing.
Quitting helps…

Cannot reproduce. Which tool is active? And in which context? Edit view, text or edit mode? Font view?

It might be that you have the Select All tool active. Check if you have one or two arrows in the first tool.
