[Spacing] General rule for punctuation, symbols and marks?

Hello!

I have a doubt (possible a dumb one, sorry), but I’m setting the side-bearings of my glyphs and I’m stuck at set the spacing for punctuation, symbols and marks. Is there any general rule to those glyphs, as the one intended to use in the letters?

Punctuation: Not too tight. And relatively similar. Most of them live from more whitespace around them.

Symbols: especially the rare ones with ample whitespace, you don’t wanna waste your time kerning lozenge and trademark.

My 2 cents. But of course, whatever rutschte design and looks alright to you is OK.
