Stroke Offset vs Expanded strokes

The monoline tutorial uses the Offset Curve filter. Here in the forum it is suggested this is somewhat replaced by the stroke setting in the sidebar.
What I miss from the latter is the Auto Stroke setting that keeps the height when increasing the weight.

Let’s say I want to create an 300 and 800 weight from a skeleton. Using the sidebar stroke I need to move the top and bottom nodes inward.
Is there an equivalent workflow that solves this?

No. That would make a stroked outline too hard to edit.

But it is an interesting idea.

I made a script that sets stroke weight on a skeleton, keeping overall shape and overshoot, and also takes into account the start/end nodes on the baseline with line cap set to none or align-to-axis.

  • Improved the scaling direction
  • Replaced modal window asking for stroke width with Stroke Width custom parameter in Master info.

Could publish it already if anyone is interested. Meanwhile might tweak it some more.

If Stroke Width is set to 0, removes strokes.
