SVG Font Stretched

I’m trying to create an SVG font – I have an existing font and am going to create a texture version. I have exported SVGs from Illustrator (which really is just a raster image). The svg’s that are the same size as the glyph box (advanced width and height). I place them so they fit exactly to the glyph box.

I follow the instructions here https://glyphsapp.com/tutorials/creating-an-svg-color-font when I export, and use the font in Illustrator the glyphs are stretched around 225%? Why?

Which app version are you using? Are you using the latest beta?

That can have several reasons. It is mostly about how the dimensions are defined in the SVG and how illustrator reads them.
Try to make the .svg square (with empty space on the right).
