Switch alternate glyphs with default ones

I have 170 alternative glyphs per master that I’d like to switch with the default versions. Some of these alternatives share the kerning groups with the default versions, some have kerning groups of their own.

Any ideas about good strategies how to tackle this kind of issue?

you can do that on export with an “Rename Glyphs” parameter.
If, if you like to do it permanently, you can use Find and Replace to rename them. If you let the Search field empty, the text in the Replace field will be appended to the name. So you select all the glyphs you like to replace and add ‘.original’ to to them. Then you remove the suffix from the alternate glyphs (if you discerned them like this).
