Technical help with marks on a font with ascender and descender axis

Hi,

I’m new to Glyphs and trying to create my first font that will have an ascender and a descender axis. For the marks like dieresis, dotaccent, etc. I would like some pointers on how to solve it. The marks on lowercase characters change their position with the ascender axis value, but the marks on the uppercase characters don’t change position. I don’t see a solution to solve this with anchors for both upper- and lowercase characters at the same time.

And how to solve the bottom marks like the french ç which is attached to the letter and ẹ where the bottom mark would change position depending on the descender axis value?

Any ideas?

Do you like to move all accents in all lower case or only the ones in the ones that have ascenders?

Did you try to have different mark glyphs for lowercase and uppercase? Then you can add the shift only for the lowercase ones.

I haven’t even thought about that. But no, all accents/marks should move with the axis, except the ones that are connected/attached to the character itself. I did think about duplicating the marks but thought I’d better ask experienced Glyphs App users on how to solve it.
