Text tool not responsive

3.5 (3507), macOS 13.7.8 (22H730)

When I open GA, and then open a previously opened .glyphs file, it opens in a text tab, and the text tool is selected but it is unresponsive until I switch to another tool then switch back to the text tool. Happens sometimes when I open a new tab from the font tab

Yes, I get this as well all the time. Very annoying.

I concur. I’m on Tahoe 26.1 (25B78) and latest cutting edge Glyphs version!

It happens to me most of the time

I’m experiencing this every time I start up the app. Lately, I’m running into this very frequently, because I’m working with custom Glyph Data, and having to restart the app to bring in changes as I go.

The process is:

  1. Quit & restart app. If it matters, I do this while on a tab view.
  2. When I restart, if I am already in edit mode for a glyph, then hit T to go to text-editing mode… nothing happens.
  3. I have to first hit V, then hit T, and I can then go into text-editing mode.

I’m not sure that is the only time it is happening, but it happens very consistently.

I can’t easily reproduce this now, but I think that maybe it sometimes launches the app into Text mode, and I have to first go into Edit mode before I can go back to Text mode and actually type.

But yes, the process above happens very consistently, in every font I’ve tested, and I am fairly certain it started immediately after updating to the latest beta release.
