THANKS for the great plug in.
TraceBackground was nice, but the current TraceImage is really powerful and smart with the path/nodes-counter and the preview!!!

Is there a way to eliminate points, simplifyng the path?

When tracing? Experiment with the settings of the plugin.

If you want postprocessing of a complex path, that is pretty tricky, as an algorithm has to do a lot of guessing as to which points are important and which points are not. You can try Simon’s SuperTool, which has an option for that.

If you just want to reduce the number of points for a smaller file size or faster PS rendering in Windows, try the bulit-in Roughen filter with a small, or even zero, offsets.
