Turn a font into modular pieces/units

Hello,

Is it possible to take a font I’ve created in Glyphs and turn it into modular pieces? Looking for an end result similar to the below photo, something composed of lines of equal length (in the case of the C) or different lengths (such as the M and A). Thanks for your time.

My guess: It would require some Python skills and many little manual interventions. I do not think it would make sense to completely automate it.
