Typeface with 3 distinct fonts

Hi Glyphs users

I have to create a typeface that consists of 3 distinct monospaced fonts. They differ in stroke width and size. The question is: how would you go about this task? So far I created the line-work in Illustrator and worked out a “plan of attack” for the development in Glyphs. However, I am wondering if there is a better (more efficient/automated) approach:

In Illustrator

  • Adapt stroke thickness to specifications
  • Outline strokes
  • Adapt size
  • Align glyphs with guidelines
  • Copy/paste in Glyphs

The key question is: would it be easier to import the line-work into Glyphs and adapt stroke thickness and size there?

Thanks for your input.

Yes that would be easier. I assume you know the Monoline tutorial?

I just came across it today. I will certainly have a good look now that you mentioned it.

Thanks
