I’ve just finished setting up the base characters for my font and created the marks ready to add the Western European characters. When I right-click and add the Western European characters it only shows half of them and the only way to get them to show is by copying them from a new blank document. As you can see from the screenshot there is a tick mark next to Western European showing that all those characters are added, even though they don’t show.
Any ideas why this would be happening and how to fix it?
It seems that your A also has Unicode values for some of the accented variants assigned to it (see the lower left corner of the window). That’s why the Western European character set is marked as complete.
If you don’t use custom glyph names, you could select all glyphs and then use Glyph – Update Glyph Info to assign the correct Unicode values to all glyphs.
Thanks so much Jens. That makes sense. I suspect the issue might be occurring because I begin the process using Fontself within Adobe Illustrator, potentially leading to incorrect Unicode values.
