What is COLRv1 fonts and how to make them?

Hi i recently get request to make specifically COLRv1 fonts, i’m not sure what it is and what’s the difference with current color font feature in Glyphsapp, maybe someone can explain more about this?

The biggest difference is that CORLv1 can handle gradients. If you only have flat colors, you can export it as COLRv0 and it should be fine.

is COLORv1 can be used to fixed this overlap letter problem? so the white is always be in the back

It can’t. I told the people responsible for the OpenType spec several times that this needs to be fixed but they don’t think it is important :sob:
