This plugin is handy in Glyphs, while it’s not very satisfying. A software called Inkscape use the similar code to trace image, its result is very close to the original image.
Is there any method to make it better?

After tracing:
The first two images were generated by image trace, very hard to get an ideal result by changing parameters.
The red one from Inkscape 1.0.2 by default value or customized parameters, very easy and exellent.

I am now in the same situation as you and I found the way in which the Inkstrape app traces the image to be excellent. If the image Trace plugin could be improved it would be a luxury.
