Access Vertical Metrics of a proxy layer or brace layer

Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to access the metrics of an interpolated layer (using proxylayer) that is not yet attached to a master? Same question goes for a brace layer {}.

I am talking about:

  1. ascender
  2. capHeight
  3. xHeight
  4. descender
  5. alignmentZones
  6. and a bonus for guides

I would like to access the x-height, descender, ascender, etc. position to be able to draw them in a preview window and calculate the relative position of a an interpolated glyph (for example: align top of fiveinferior to the ascender line).
But it seems like the only way to access these values is through the master, which is not existing in the case of a smart layer or a proxy layer.

Am I missing something?

braceLayer.associatedFontMaster().ascender

if you need that in drawing code, make sure to reuse that master as much as possible as it takes some time to compute.
