Adding a Space Character

I’m very new to Glyphs - I’m creating one font for a school assignment - and I’m trying to figure out how to add a space character to my typeface.

I’ve tried creating a new glyph and naming it “Space” but that doesn’t work. I apologize for asking such a simple question, but I couldn’t find any information related to adding spaces in the forum and in the handbook. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are almost there. The glyph has to be called ‘space’ (all lowercase). But a new font should have a space glyph already. And if you might find this helpful: https://www.glyphsapp.com/tutorials/adding-glyphs-to-your-font

Thank you so much for the help! We only have to create the font in uppercase for the class project so I had removed a lot of extra glyphs when I first created the font, and accidentally removed the space. Thanks again for the quick reply and for the additional link.
