Can you please make it possible to set an arbitrary width of a stroke at the node position. I can fake it now (see picture) with separating the path and setting different values for stroke width and height.
So the left part of the path has e.g. stroke w=80 h=120, and the right part of the stroke is uniform w=120 h=120. It would be much more convenient if this was a standard feature so I can have paths of varying width closed.
It is not as basic. Because the transition from thin to thick can be done in many ways. And depending on that, the transition between segments will be influenced as well.
