I am having a kerning pair problem. I thought I had the kerning finished and then realized I needed to add several new dot accent letters. There originally was only one cap B so I had kerned it with no kerning pair name on the right side (the left side corresponded with the H). I added the new Bdotaccent and gave both letters a kerning pair name on the right side. When I look at the kerning window, all the right side B kerning is an exception and I have to go in and fix it all by hand. Same issue with the F, M and P. The H, S and T letters had complete kerning pair names so they were fine. There must be an easier way than scrolling through everything to find and lock all the unlocked buttons on all the eceptions on 16 fonts.
You can you use the “Compress” function (in the button in the lower right) in the Kerning panel. It will copy all glyph kerning to class/group kerning (when there is no class pair already). There might be places where you added the glyph kerning on purpose. So you need to check carefully afterwards.
I wasn’t exactly sure about what the Compress action did before. Now I know. Very useful. Thanks!
