Can we make fonts with colors, or, multiple colors?

Primarily for use in InDesign.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to create a font for which, for example a capital letter A appears normally, but a lowercase letter A appears as a capital A, but blue?

I have the need to create a symbol set, but in InDesign, custom colors are overridden when character styling is removed or reset.

Pretty new to this, so not sure I’m describing it correctly.

TIA

There are different technologies of so-called “color fonts”. InDesign works with SVG color fonts, but there might also be other color font formats that work with it, I am not sure.

You can learn about SVG color fonts in the tutorials:

Thanks! I’ll take a look.

I forgot to ask if this works with the Mini version.

cheers

Glyphs Mini cannot create color fonts as those require some of the more advanced features only found in Glyphs.
