I’m finding that I have to distort my cap components and move them off the left sidebearing quite a bit in order for them to behave how I want them to in an italic. Is there a cleaner way of building italic caps that doesn’t have to compensate for so much distortion?
To about half the x-height, right? That is where x=0 is. The cap components should not show the italic slanting of sidebearings. Workaround: put a vertical guide at x=0. Or use an origin anchor.
