I wanted to change add component shortcut to shift + C but it doesn’t work. Is there a way to make it work?
How did you try changing the shortcut?
Go to System Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts
and add the shortcut for Glyphs 3 there.
So not inside the Glyphs.app then? Do you know why is that?
System Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts doesn’t allow me to add SHIFT + C as a shortcut
A shortcut needs to involve the Command or Control key.
Yet you can set it inside Glyphs. Unfortunately, every software has a different approach to shortcuts which creates frustration.
Apple changed this a few macOS versions ago such that a shortcut requires the use of Command or Control.
The Shortcut settings in Glyphs allow setting shortcuts that do not use any of those two key since in some contexts that’s still allowed and on older macOS versions it’s also still possible. However, I would recommend against using a shortcut like Shift-C as that should be reserved for typing a capital C.
