Color Fonts and kerning on Windows 11 MS PowerPoint

Hi

I’m running a color font test and notice that kernign isn’t working on PowerPoint (Windows 11). Is this expected or should kerning work?

The attached screen grab shows the colour text font on the top row and the standard OTF font on the bottom row. Both have kerning turned on in ‘Character Spacing’.

Is this expected behaviour or do I need to add another other paramters on Exprt to include the kerns?

Only sane way of making kerning work in PowerPoint is to export a variable font.

Though, before you type anything, it’s there already:
