… is a great feature. is not offered in the context menu if you have an (locked or unlocked) image in the background, though. bug?

Depends on where you right-click. If the image is below, the context is the image. There are three possible workarounds:

  1. Use Layers > Component from Selection instead.
  2. Turn off View > Show Image.
  3. Right-click somewhere outside the image bounds. It doesn’t matter how far away the paths are.
