Corner components in webfonts

I used corner components to make a center spike. It previews correctly in Glyphs, and renders right in Illustrator, photoshop, etc. But the webfont shows the outline of the spikes.

(the r and w render fine because they use a different component or were decomposed).
The spike glyph is set to counter-clockwise like the letters. I tried both TTF and woff2.

Can I see the spike?
And open the exported font file in Glyphs to check how the spike was injected into the host paths.

The left and right anchor and the path direction didn’t agree (the left anchor was at the wrong place altogether). I send you the corrected file.
