Could metric keys be references?

Renaming glyphs do always break metric keys. Would be nice, if they could be references instead…

That can’t really be references as you can have more complex metrics keys. But It could check when you change the glyph name and ask to update them. I’ll need have a look at it.

I wanted to request that, yes. That would be very useful. Especially since there is no warning in font view about metrics keys not being valid.

but can’t you just get the data on the reference for the calculation?

There are some stupid edge cases that make it a PITA. Take, for example, =blabla-10: Is that the glyph blabla minus ten units? Or ist it the glyph blabla-10?
