I tried all of the instructions mentioned on Crashes | Glyphs (*)
I’m on a Mac mini M1 2020 with 16GB of RAM, macOS “Sequoia” 15.3.1 (24D70), running a fresh install of Glyphs 3.3.1 (3343), i.e. the latest stable (?) build, with no plugins installed whatsoever.
Glyphs keeps crashing, to the point that it has become unusable.
Crashes are consistent, with Glyphs ending up consuming in excess of 95 GB of memory usage, probably due to some loop causing memory leak?
Crashes are consistently triggered by clicking any glyph in the Font overview so as to edit it. It seems that it is the initiating of the editing window that causes the crash.
The problem is not due to a specific .glyphs file, but persists even whith a new, empty Font project.
Presumeably, the problem started to appear after I had Glyphs generate missing Glyphs from the Languages colections, by which composite glyphs were generated referencing empty components, too newly created. At least, as far as I recall, the first crash occured when clicking the empty component box so as to start creating it.
Secondly, perhaps unrelated, but worth mentioning, is that Glyphs seemed to get into trouble rendering open path single line glyphs at 600 pixels and above.
Please help, and thanks in advance!
(*) In as miuch as they are applicable, i.e.
- on restarting Glyphs after a crash, no “Crash Report” pops up;
- the “Terminal miracle cure” yields:
~ % kill `pgrep Glyphs`
kill: not enough arguments
and
rm: ~/Library/Preferences/com.GeorgSeifert*: No such file or directory
rm: ~/Library/Preferences/com.schriftgestaltung*: No such file or directory
rm: ~/Library/Autosave Information/com.GeorgSeifert*: No such file or directory
rm: ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.GeorgSeifert*: No such file or directory
I deleted Glyphs, downloaded again, re-installed, to no avail.
