Creating a logotype

A really quick question.
How to set-up an artboard for creating only a logotype?

I enjoy the handling of beziers and functions a lot in Glyphs, but I’m not interested in making a whole font (yet). I just want to set out a grid and make a logotype in a blank artboard. Is this possible?

Just draw it in any glyph, then copy & paste it into AI or wherever you need it.
