I think of creating a huge family with condensed and extended versions and also with optical sizes (display->caption), but there is not enough options in Masters proportions to do it in one file.
I see in Masters tab Custom field, but it is inactive. Do You plan to extend this functionality soon?
I plan to add the custom dimension for quite some time. But the way the interpolation is set up, the math to compute the interpolation values with three dimensions (or you might call it axis) is very complicated and I didn’t solve it yet.

What do You think about using Superpolator? Are there any issues that I need to know before I buy it? Can I just export UFOs and import them again to Glyphs?
Superpolator should be able to do the interpolation but it is quite tedious to move to .ufo and back.
