Custom stroke cap

The stroke feature is great … and the various cap options are also nice.

Now Imagine a case where for example rounding is needed but the circular rounding doesn’t match the curve tension otherwise present in the design (think squircle)

is it at all thinkable to have a component present in the document that would be available as an additional custom stroke cap option?

You can simply add a cap component.

On a stroke?
I am referring to the options here at the bottom…

Yes, on a stroke, just put it on the extra nodes (turn on View > Nodes > Show Extra Nodes).

This is active … I still don’t get how this can be accomplished … don’t I need to selected two points to get the cap options in the context menu?

When selecting one node I get the corner option …

When selecting a terminal node I get no option to add the cap

Nevermind … I didn’t see the extra nodes … they were a bit subtile.
got it now.

Wouldn’t it make sense to offer the option of adding the cap when a terminal node is selected though … just the same as if we select these two extra nodes?

For corners it makes a difference if the original node or the extra node is selected. So there is some kind of consistency.

Getting pretty strange results …
stroke width and cap width 90 units … origin anchor in place.

Some weird offset occurs. What am I doing wrong?

Same here. Can you try the cutting edge version.
