Deactivated VF settings

I just had a problem exporting a VF. No warning, no message, the font simply would not export. It took me quite a while to figure out what was going on (of course, downgrading Glyphs was one attempt, expecting a newly introduced bug).

It turned out the reason was a deactivated VF setting in Font Info > Exports.

Is this really the most reasonable or expected behaviour? I’d expect that deactivated exports (whether VF or single) behave the same as if they were not there at all. Silently suppressing all VF export is a bit unexpected.

You should get this error:

I am not getting this error. Note: in my file, there are instance exports defined but the only VF setting is deactivated. As a result, the VF export seems to be silently suppressed.

After deleting the VF setting, the VF export works.

What version of Glyphs is this? I tried in 3.4.1 and 3.5 and it showed the error in both.

I am using Glyphs 3.5 (3517).

Could you send me the .glyphs file? Maybe there is setting that is causing this.
