You are right. I’ll see what I can do.
Hi! Can I ask why doesn’t Glyphs use Extension Kerning automatically after reaching the threshold? Are there any problems with it in 2026?
I’m facing a table overflow with just about 2000 pairs in 4 masters (with a somewhat extensive glyph set), which works if simplified to about 1700. So, I’m wondering if there are reasons to avoid Extension Kerning at a cost of a somewhat rougher kerning, or is it safe to just use it and forget?
The overflow comes most likely not from the kerning but from the mark feature. Could you send me the file for testing?
I think that should be a conscious decision to switch to extension GPOS.
Oh, interesting! Unfortunately, I can’t send it in this case because it’s not my file.
The font supports Vietnamese so I wonder if the solution is to clean up any redundancy / reduce the number of anchors or something like that?
I’m looking into reducing the numbers of anchors that are decomposed from components.
But you can just add the “Extension Kerning” parameter.
