Hi. I’m working on a serif typeface using corner components and I was wondering if there is a way to exclude the components(serif) in the side bearing measurements?

You can add a measurement line in text mode (View > Show Measurement Line) that will measure side bearings at a certain height.
And metrics keys can get a @XX suffix where XX is a height where to measure.
