Export date in family name

I thought it would be nice to be able to have an option that automatically adds the date and time of export to the family name, which is helpful for avoiding cache problem and maybe reviewing past versions. How do you think?

Yes maybe a nice feature but each export should overwright the previous version of a family if using export to a folder in Indesign.

Would this run into name-length limits (or is that field one that doesn’t have such limits)?

Depends on the rest of the name, of course. But you’re on the safe side if you call your font “A” for testing purposes. :slight_smile:

In that case you simply don’t use export time option. The point of this feature is to avoid overwriting.

Hello,

I was wondering if this is a possibility on Glyphs 3—maybe with a custom parameter. Would be great for keeping track of multiple versions for proofing.
