Export 'errors'

Hello,

While testing my variable font, a few things caught my eye in AxisPraxis’s “font info” box.

  1. The following errors - “fvar: ‘wght’ axis [0,100] out of range [1,1000]. fvar: Italic axis ‘ital’ out of range [0,1].” What do these mean? What is the significance of these?
  2. The Font Family name, Unique font identifier, and Full font name includes “Light Narrow”. Ideally instances like ‘Light Narrow’ wouldn’t be a part of these titles.

Below are “font info” screenshots from AxisPraxis & Glyphs (with my font name redacted). I’d love some clarification or advice on these issues.
Thank you!

For registered variation axes, you must use the ranges and defaults defined in the OpenType spec. You set those in Glyphs by adding an “Axis Location” Custom Parameter to each of your masters.

E.g. the width axis default (normal width) should be at 100, the Regular weight should be at wght=400; on the italic axis, the upright master must be at 0, the italic master at 1.

Thank you Jens! That solved the errors.
I welcome any insight from you or others on issue #2; the fact that ‘Light Narrow’ still shows up in the names.

The name id 1–4+6 need to be the names of the origin master. They shouldn’t be used anywhere so you can ignore them.

Thank you!
